Chân sút 31 tuổi đã có 26 bàn thắng sau 33 trận khoác áo ĐT Saudi Arabia. Dù vậy, trong trận giao hữu với ĐT Bỉ mới đây, Al-Sahlawi không thể tỏa sáng để cứu đội nhà khỏi trận thua tan nát 0-4.
Phát biểu sau trận giao hữu với ĐT Bỉ, ông Turki Al-Sheikh, Chủ tịch Cơ quan Thể thao Toàn cầu (GSA) của Saudi Arabia tuyên bố Al-Sahlawi sẽ tạm thời rời đội chủ quản Al Nassr để chuyển sang Anh tập luyện tại M.U trong ba tuần lễ.
“Chúng tôi đã đạt thỏa thuận với M.U về việc để Mohammad Al-Sahlawi chuyển tới đó tập luyện trong ba tuần. Cầu mong Chúa ban phước lành cho cậu ấy”, ông Al-Sheikh chia sẻ.
